Frequently asked questions
Purity, testing, dispatch and everything else researchers ask us most.
Turn the vial around. On the rear of every label there is a QR code. Scan it with your phone camera and it opens our COA Library straight away — no app, no account and no login. From there you only have to do one thing: match the lot number printed on your vial to the lot listed for that product, and open the certificate against it. That certificate is the independent third-party report for the exact batch in your hand — not a sample document, and not a previous production run. You can do this before you even break the seal. If the lot on your vial does not appear in the library, tell us and we will sort it out.
Every product we supply is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory research and development. Our products are not medicines, carry no therapeutic or medical claims, and are not for human or veterinary use, consumption, diagnosis or treatment. By ordering you confirm you are a qualified researcher or competent professional and accept responsibility for lawful, safe handling, storage and disposal. Full detail is in our terms and conditions.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the same building blocks that make up proteins — joined by peptide bonds. The distinction is essentially one of length: chains of roughly two to fifty amino acids are generally described as peptides, while longer chains are called proteins. Because their sequence determines their structure, peptides are widely used in laboratory research to study how specific sequences behave in controlled in-vitro conditions. The compounds we supply are lyophilised (freeze-dried) synthetic peptides intended solely for that kind of laboratory work.
No. Nothing we sell is a medicine, supplement or food, and none of it is intended for human or animal administration, consumption, diagnosis or treatment. Our products are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. We make no therapeutic claims of any kind, and we will not provide dosing, administration or protocol guidance.
Yes. Every peptide batch is sent to an external accredited laboratory for HPLC analysis. The purity figure on the label is not ours — it is verified by a third party with no stake in the result. We work with Janoshik Laboratory for independent analysis.
Every order is COA-backed and matched by batch ID. You can browse our full COA Library at any time, and certificates for products you have purchased also appear under Downloads in your account. Safety data sheets are available in the SDS Library.
Our main payment method is Pay by Bank, powered by Fena. It uses open banking, which is regulated by the FCA. At checkout you pick your bank, get sent to your own banking app to approve the payment, and come straight back — the order is confirmed instantly. You never enter a card number, and we never see or store your banking details. It is not a manual transfer: there are no sort codes or references to copy across, and nothing to wait for. If you would rather send a standard bank transfer instead, that option is also available at checkout, though your order is only dispatched once the funds arrive.
Order before 4pm on a working day and we dispatch the same day. Anything after 4pm, or placed at a weekend or on a bank holiday, goes out on the next working day — so 4pm on Friday is the last cut-off before Monday. You will get a confirmation email when the order is placed and a tracking number as soon as it leaves us.
All UK orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Once your parcel is dispatched, a tracking number is added to your order and a Track your order button appears on your account dashboard, in your order list and on the order itself — so you can follow your parcel without digging through emails.
Because these are sealed research materials, we cannot generally accept a return or refund once the seal on a vial has been broken — that protects the integrity of the product for every researcher we supply. There are clear exceptions: if an item arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, we will put it right. Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and tell us promptly about any damage, defect or shortage. Email info@elitebiolabs.co.uk before sending anything back, so we can agree the return with you first. None of this affects your statutory rights. The full wording is in section 9 of our Terms.
Contact us straight away. Photograph the outer packaging and the vial before you unpack any further, then email info@elitebiolabs.co.uk with your order number, the lot number printed on the label, and the photographs. Risk in the products passes to you on delivery, so telling us promptly matters — it lets us raise the claim with the courier and get a replacement out to you. Where an item is faulty, damaged in transit or not as described, we will replace it or refund it.
Storage requirements vary by compound, so always follow the guidance on the product page and the safety data sheet for the specific item. As a general rule, lyophilised peptides should be kept sealed, cool, dry and out of direct light on arrival, and moved to longer-term cold storage if they will not be used promptly.
Yes. We offer volume pricing and batch consistency for universities, contract laboratories and ongoing research programmes. Tell us what you need and over what timeframe and we will put together a quote — get in touch.
They answer two different questions. HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) separates the sample into its components and measures how much of the material is the intended compound — that is where the purity percentage comes from. Retention time compared against a reference standard confirms the compound is what the label says it is. Purity without identity tells you the vial is clean but not what is in it; identity without purity tells you the right compound is present but not how much. Both appear on every certificate we publish.
Because purity varies between production runs. A certificate that is not tied to a batch number tells you about material you have not received. Every COA we publish carries the lot number printed on the vial, the date of analysis and the testing laboratory’s own reference, so the document can be matched to the exact vial in your hand and checked against the lab independently.
An in-house laboratory belongs to the company selling the product, so the organisation reporting the result is the same one that benefits from it. That is a structural limitation rather than a comment on competence — an in-house lab may be perfectly capable, but the buyer has no way to verify the figure independently. Independent third-party testing removes that conflict: the analysis is carried out by a laboratory with no commercial interest in the outcome, and the report carries an external reference you can check directly with them.
Our products are supplied for laboratory research use only. At checkout you confirm that you are a qualified researcher or competent professional, that the material will be used solely for in-vitro research, and that you accept responsibility for lawful, safe handling, storage and disposal. If you are ordering on behalf of an institution and need documentation for procurement, contact us.
We are a UK supplier of research peptides and laboratory supplies, registered in England & Wales as Elite Bio Research Ltd (Company No. 17306852).
